United Utilities' (UU) AMP8 programme, starting in April 2025 and running until 2030, will be followed by AMP9, focusing on enhancing water and wastewater infrastructure in North West England. With a budget of around £7 billion, AMP8 significantly increases investment over previous periods, aiming to improve services and environmental sustainability. A key aspect of AMP8 is the two-phase approach: Phase One involves the Strategic Solutions Partner (SSIP) in early project stages, while Phase Two emphasises the engagement of a Design Development Partner (DDP) to refine design aspects. This phase also includes vital components like Commercial Support, Specialist Modelling, and 'Build Only' minor works. UU's AMP8 program balances strategic planning, technical precision, and practical execution in infrastructure development.
